Hi John. I found your blog and video's (and Ryan, and Chip's and Alyssa's) by typing CBYX in youtube. I've already contacted Chip and asked him a "zillion" questions and he's even promised to answer more, so I thought I'd bother you. My kid will be going to Germany with CBYX this summer, so I've really enjoyed watching and reading about some of your experiences. Thanks for the tour of your house! FYI, if you want tap water at a restaurant ask for "leitungswasser" (lie-tungs-wasser), they may ask you a few times and look at you funny, but good, old, plain, FREE, unbubbly water is what they'll bring!

Hi John, me again, I'm no longer anonymous ;~). I REALLY liked your early blog about cultural differences. I forwarded that to my kid. At the end you said that there were a few more things you were going to write about??? Would it be interesting to video tape any of these things? The Amikinder kids often ask for ideas for video taping.. how about a series of Top 10 lists? Like, Top 10 Things I love about Germany. Top 10 things I have about Germany. Top 10 differences between German and American school.. and since you ALL rave about German breakfast.. The Top 10 best items in a German breakfast. Just an idea... of course the most important thing is that you REALLY enjoy the time you are there....feel free to share this with the other Amikinders.. I'm not sure how best to communicate with them.. and I don't know how to make a youtube video! Tschuss! MMM

JP I like the video idea! I also liked the fine china throw back. Classic Assateague moments. I have no good ideas or questions for you though, sorry...

hey john, I just randomly found ur blog on the AFS website, and I gotta say, out of all the other Germany blogs, urs is the best :) ( I just won the cbyx scholarship from AFS!!!) I was just wondering about the technology over there. Like are the plugs the same, so u could use like a charger or something? I was also wondering how long it took u to make friends over there. Was it really akward for a long time? Thanks!
